The Terrorists Part 2 – “Guerrilla Priest/ Love Is Better Now” 12 w/ Lee Perry

Following up on our last post about NYC’s The Terrorists I wanted to give a little more information on the vinyl releases.

I have both the Guerrilla Priest/ Love Is Better Now 12″ with Lee “Scratch” Perry and the Max’s Kansas City 45 in my collection. Both are well worth searching out for collectors and DJ’s a like. I finally found a scan of the 12″ cover to include with this post.

The 12″ features Lee in typical lyrical mysticism and dubby conquerer mode on Guerrilla Priest injecting trademark dubbed out shouts and hollers while Love Is Better Now has a more straight ahead looping rootsy reggae vibe by way of NYC/ UK vocal stylings which ends in an extended dub workout.

Give the tracks from the 12″ a listen by clicking the players below.

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
