The Expanders Announce New Album on Easy Star Records

The Expanders Hustlin CultureThe Expanders have been faithfully laying down the 70’s style roots reggae harmonies like no other now for close to a decade. Their debut album was a fan-favorite and a hit the world around. It was full of tight three-part harmonies courtesy of Devin Morrison, Chiquis Lozoya and John Butcher who just wanted to recreate the sounds they loved off those old dusty records from the likes of The Ethiopians, Culture, and The Mighty Diamonds. But you already know what as readers of this blog as we’ve talked about them many times before.

Well they have been busy in the studio over the last year masterfully creating another dose of musical blasts to please the ears of their eager fans.

You can sample “World of Wonder” at the iTunes store right now and if you pre-order the full album you get an instant download of the tune.

The album will be available on CD with 12 tracks and LP with 10. Both can be ordered from the RootFire store right now. If you order the vinyl you will get a digital download of the album as well.

I’m sure it will be wonderful album but I have to say that I am really interested to hear their tribute to a wonderful man and friend to the LA massive that we lost over a year ago. The track “Reggae Pops” will surely be a wonderful tribute to a great man who was always full of joy, always excited and ready to dance with an energy that really seemed endless for a man of his age.

Everything is scheduled to drop on July 24th.

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
