Studio One Legend Charley Organaire Releases New Single Backed by The Prizefighters

Charley Organaire & The PrizefightersThere’s a new release coming from Studio One vocal/harmonica legend Charley Organaire soon and it sounds amazing. There are his first new Ska recordings in decades and features the backing of the Twin Cities own The Prizefighters who backed the artists earlier this year in Chicago for one of their Jamaican Oldies weekends.

Charley re-recorded two of his 60s ska classics “Troubles” and “Elusive Baby” with the band and are putting them out via Jump Up Records. He’s also taking the band with him on a tour in Europe which is exciting news for any young band. Usually legends such as him just get a band in Europe to back him but guess they really hit it off and this is their first big tour.

Check out an exclusive preview of the first single “Troubles” at The Prizefighters website. You have to share the link to your facebook in order to listen but it’s well worth it. These kids know what they are doing.

Check out the original “Elusive Baby” below.

Here’s a video of The Prizefighters backing Roy & Yvonne along with Charley back in February.

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
