See Revivers Live Show & Play This Friday with Chris Murray

Revivers FlyerLast year in July The Revivers did a small tour up the coast and made a stop in Arlington, WA to play at 1st Annual Summer Ska Splash at The Mirkwood & Shire. Their set was caught on camera thankfully so we can all see this amazing live band via YouTube (see below).

The Revivers are of course one of the classiest and amazing bands today. The are a collection of veteran musicians from the southern California Ska/Reggae scene featuring members of The Debonaires & The Skeletones. Their dedication to “reviving” the sounds of early Jamaican Reggae from the late 60’s and early 70’s can be heard in their authentic renditions of classic hits and obscure rarities which they do like no other band today other than Hepcat of course.

Riverside’s own early Reggae revivalists The Revivers live for the music of a young Jamaica. The band includes members of LA hitmaker’s such as The Expanders, See Spot, The Debonaires and The Skeletones. A pedigree indeed and they’ve been tapped to back up original foundation artists such Pat Kelly. The band, who have been playing off and on for more than a few years, brings together the soulful singing pipes of the Debonaires’ original lead singer Tony Greene and present members of the current incarnation Mano Mirande (guitar), Mike Presser (guitar), Tom Cook (organ), Mark Cummings (bass) along with young lion Brent Lobo (drums). – See more at: http://www.moondustrecords.com/artists/the-revivers/#sthash.MEaEMkiV.dpuf

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
