Jimmy Cliff to Appear on Late Night With David Letterman
Jimmy Cliff will be the musical guest this Wednesday June 6th on the Late Show with David Letterman. Other guests on the show will be Jane Fonda and Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
Hopefully that means he’ll be backed by the Engine Room band which was the group of Los Angeles’ best musicians handpicked by Tim Armstrong to be the backing band for his new collaboration producing Jimmy’s newest album ‘Sacred Fire’. The band featured Tim, Jay Bonner (Aggrolites/ Jandisc Records) as well as members of the Sandollar Sound. That would be Dan Boer, Jubal Molitar, and Zac Pike. Not sure if it will be the band or someone else. Sure would be cool if they were though. Guess we’ll have to set our DVR’s or gasp watch it live even!
The performance is another in a long line of promotional work and live performances Jimmy has been busy with over the last year to promote the album which featured the Jamaican legend and the Punk legend teaming up to record some new songs as well as a cover of The Clash’s “Guns Of Brixton”.
So tune in this Wednesday to CBS Channel 2 at 11:30 to watch it live.
