Dub Echoes screening TONIGHT!

Dub Echoes We mentioned this interesting documentary “Dub Echoes” back in November and hadn’t heard that it was screening anywhere here in LA or the US in fact. Well we just got word that it is and there’s a good DJ spinning hits before and after the show!

How did we miss this? Get to this screening if you can! DJ Danny Hallloway will be dropping the solid sounds tonight and tomorrow with me at the 3 Floors of Ska event at the Knitting Factory.

Dub Echoes is a documentary that traces the origins of the Jamaican dub music and it’s influence on the development of hip hop and electronic music. The film features prominent Jamaican producers Lee Perry, Sly & Robbie, Bunny Lee, King Jammy, etc. and shows how the Jamaican invention called dub ended up influencing much of the music we hear today.

Dub Echoes was produced by a Brazilian crew, in Kingston (Jamaica), London (UK), NY, Washington, LA (US), Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo (Brazil).

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
