Download FREE Brand New Madness Track Death of A Rude Boy

Madness Death of a RudeboyI’m a huge Madness fan. Always have and they haven’t let me down yet (even during their THE Madness and Dangermen sessions). The last few years have seen the lads music used as the backbone of a stage musical, a new concept album, new tours, as well as playing at the Summer Olympics closing ceremony and the Queen Mother’s Jubilee! It’s been great to see them continue creating new meaningful work and being relevant unlike other acts who can’t seem to create anything new or exciting (even if they have put together a solid string of amazing dates over the last couple years).

The band recently announced they will release a new collection of tunes in 2013 (even though Marco on the Bass posted in August of last year that Suggs had confirmed the new collection for this year). I’ve seen the new collection titled Circus Freaks. Guess all the parting this year caught up to the old gents and knocked some of their plans back a bit. Sure it will be amazing once it comes out.

They are giving the first single from the set “Death of A Rude Boy” away FREE via their website right now. The tune seems to bring up happy memories of earlier Madness material with not only lyrical content but the tone of the music itself. You can get a download link emailed to you simply by giving them an email address.

The band has been playing the tune live for over a year in their live set as the video below shows.

They’ve also released a clip featuring scenes from the classic Jimmy Cliff film Harder They Come.

Death Of A Rude Boy is available along with an Andrew Weatherall Remix from Itunes here.

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
