Bob Andy Vs. Studio One

200px_BobAndySongBookWell it’s been a little bit too long since I last posted and I gotta say sorry about that. Been a little busy of late. Well here’s to trying to give you cats a little more regular updates.

A recent article in the Jamaica Observer offers some interesting details concerning one of the legends of Rocksteady and Reggae in his fight to get back royalties from the founder of the industry, Mr. Coxsone Dodd of Studio One (or in this case his estate).

Bob Andy says royalties are due to him from one the biggest releases on the Studio One label, 1970’s album  “Bob Andy’s Songbook”. Everyone knows how these sorts of things have been rampant in the Jamaican music scene from the first day and I hope it works out for the wonderful Bob Andy.

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
