There were two sides to Keith Hudson’s musical career, his producing and his singing. Production wise he was top flight and he enjoyed considerable success from the late sixties well into the 70?s. As a singer he was at best an aquired taste and it’s no great surprise that he recorded only for himself and no other producer employed him for this “talent”.

The Trojans are one of those bands that truly defy genre classification. They play Ska for sure and are known to helping launch the late 80’s/ early 90’s UK Ska explosion that saw bands such as Judge Dread, The Hot Knives, Potato 5, The Loafers, The Skadows take over the usic scene at that time.
The Lions This GenerationThe Lions second release came out last year on Stones’ Throw Records. At the start of 2013 I declared that it would be the best Reggae album of the year. Anticipation was very high for the release indeed after the debut sort of came out of nowhere and blew all of us off our feet. I don’t think calling it a masterful work is being verbose.
