Angel City Set to Release New Keith & Tex and Stahl Single

Scott Abels AKA StahlAngel City Records bills itself as “The Sounds of Yesteryear NOW” and has been steadily dropping some sweet vintage style Soul & Reggae nuggets from the likes of Mr. Symarip and Jackie Mendez over the last year.

They are set to release a new single from the dynamic duo of Keith & Tex backed by a cut from the man of many talents Scott Abels who goes under Stahl for these releases. This is his second one on the label in fact.

His first was “Bring It On Back,” a Blue Beat inspired tune Prince Buster would have been proud to release, paired with a rip roaring Ska thriller instrumental entitled “The Mayan Empire.”

Scott Abels is of course an accomplished musician, producer, songwriter born and raised in Fresno, California.  He’s worked with such artists as The Aggrolites, Hepcat, and Tim Armstrong, Scott has also been involved in collaborations with vintage artists, most notably Jimmy Cliff on his 2013 Grammy award winning album, “Rebirth.”

Angel City Records CrestThe work Scott does as Stahl harkens back to the golden age and his love of the genre is dripping off the burning needle. He works consistently on different projects including playing drums with Angel City Records instrumental reggae group “Thee Hurricanes,” and will continue to amaze with these slices of musical goodness to come. Below are previews for the new release coming soon on Angel City Records.

I've been involved in the Los Angeles music scene since at least 1995 going to shows, promoting, spinning records and running labels. Ska and Early Reggae are my passion among other things of course.
